The Tutors


The directors, and founders, of the School are Richard Rust and Jane Brenan. Jane is the School Manager, running the office and handling all School logistics, while Richard is one of the main tutors. The School continues to present a variety of Courses with additional teachers, who represent the very best in their respective fields.

Richard P. Rust

RichardRichard is one of N.Z's leading and most successful Natural Health Practitioners, specialising in Kinesiology, Structural Bodywork (NMT), Health Coaching and NLP Change Processes. Richard's practise has evolved over many years, following 5 years employment in the Pharmaceutical industry working closely with Doctors and Physicians around the country in the Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, and General Practise fields. His serious interest in Massage began with his extensive involvement in Martial Arts, particularly Kyokushin Style Karate, in which he has held two N.Z. full-contact titles, and represented N.Z. twice in international competition. Since that time, Richard's life has been a journey of education, discovery, and application of the most effective strategies for helping himself and others to achieve consistent levels of radiant health. His training and clinical experience includes Therapeutic Treatment based Massage, NeuroMuscular Therapy, Bowen Therapeutic Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Effectiveness Training (Communications), Touch for Health Kinesiology, Kinergetics, NOT (Neural Organisation Technique, TBM (Total Body Modification) and Ortho-Bionomy. He is also Director of the Radiant Health Centre (Wellington's most successful Structural Health clinic) and over the years has helped thousands of client's to successfully eliminate their pain, restriction & dis-ease and achieve radiant health. He is a dedicated and passionate teacher, and openly shares his knowledge and understandings around Health issues. He is also involved in Corporate Training on Strategies for Health, Wellness & Interpersonal Communications.

Jane Brenan

Jane Jane’s primary role is that of School Director & Manager and she is the driving force behind the successful administrative aspects of the School. She is passionate about successful business and is dedicated to providing the best service possible to students of the School. She is available to discuss course options with students at any time during the year – an appointment is recommended so Jane can ensure you get her full attention. Jane also runs a successful consulting business, using a mix of Bach Flower Remedies and NLP, helping clients facilitate positive changes.

Leon Botello

Certified Massage Therapist and Licensed Instructor, U.S.A., Diploma of Massage Therapy, Certified Clinical NeuroMuscular Therapist and Instructor

LeonLeon studied and taught the Paul St. John NeuroMuscular programme in the USA; and also worked as a NeuroMuscular Therapist at two rehab hospitals in Texas, together with a team of Doctors, Physio’s, O.T.’s and Psychiatrists. He is a highly skilled professional who has had an extraordinary impact on the development of treatment based Massage in N.Z. – and has essentially created an entirely new field of bodywork in this country in the form of Clinical NeuroMuscular Therapy. He has been teaching at WSMT since 1998. We consider it a privilege to have Leon as a tutor on our programme.

Bruce Stark

Advanced Instructor & Advanced Pract. Soc. of Ortho-Bionomy Int.® ,Cert. & Reg. Massage Th. & Bodyworker, ABMP Cert. Bodywork Therapist, American Council on Exercise Certified Group Fitness Instr.

Bruce Bruce has practised therapeutic bodywork fulltime since 1989 and has been teaching since 1995. He is based in Sydney, where he runs his private practise working with clients, as well as travelling extensively presenting workshops and seminars in Ortho-Bionomy and other holistic practises. As a certified Fitness Instructor, Bruce has incorporated Ortho-Bionomy in his work with athletes, and with sports injury prevention and rehab. Having previously been president of the Ortho-Bionomy Society International for 5 years, Bruce’s leadership and teamwork abilities have had a huge ongoing impact on consolidating Ortho-Bionomy teaching and practise throughout the world; for which he is internationally acknowledged and respected. He brings to his Ortho-Bionomy teaching the depth of understanding of someone who has deeply integrated the underlying principles of Ortho-Bionomy into his practise, and his life.

Jules Barber

Dip. Therapeutic Massage (TMA), NeuroMuscular Therapist, Dip. Bowen Technique, NLP Practitioner, Wellbeing Consultant

Jules has been massaging for more than 7 years and has a successful Massage business. She includes in her treatment work techniques such as Relaxation Massage, Bowen Therapy, NeuroMuscular Therapy, NLP, and Nutrition. Jules teaches the School’s Relaxation Massage Course.

Emma Fromings

Registered Nurse, Dip. Therapeutic Massage, UK., Dip. of Reflexology, U.K.

Emma has been working in the health field for 20 years. She was introduced to Reflexology in England and incorporated it into her nursing work. In New Zealand she focused on Reflexology and set up in full time practice and for several years she practised and taught Reflexology in Wellington, including Reflexology Practitioner trainings and the Level 1 & Level 2 trainings. She has now returned to nursing and still finds the time to teach the Level 2 Reflexology course.

Philip Rafferty

Member of the Australian Kinesiology Association, Member of the Energy Kinesiology Association USA, developer of Kinergetics & RESET

PhilipPhilip has been teaching and practising Kinesiology since 1981. He was the founding president of the Touch For Health Association Victoria, Australia. Philip became a full time Kinesiologist in 1988 and developed Kinergetics in 1991. RESET followed in 1995. He loves demonstrating, and has presented at over 80 conferences, demonstrations and festivals around the world. He lives in Melbourne Australia. Philip will be teaching some of the Advanced Kinergetics modules.

 

 

Toni Frow-Patchett

Toni has over 16 years experience in the Health & Fitness industry, spending 8 years co-running a Wellington Corporate Health Club, through her company “Perfect Balance Ltd”. Toni decided to add Therapeutic Massage to her repertoire of skills, training with the WSMT & attaining her NZATMP Diploma in early 2000. She has also completed her NeuroMuscular Therapy training with the School in 2000; & spent 1.5 years working full time out of the Radiant Health Centre. Toni’s main work is running the Health & Fitness Centre at the Wellington Club. Toni will be co-teaching some of the Sports Massage modules.

 

 

Peter Morningstar

Member of the Australian Kinesiology Association, a Registered Touch for Health Instructor, a Touch for Health Proficiency Instructor, an Educating Alternatives Instructor, author and Instructor of the Foot Joint Workshop, Reiki Master and the developer of Matrix Essences.

peter 1 4Peter has been working with Kinesiology since 1994 in all areas of life relevant to the health and wellbeing of his clients. He teaches Touch for Health and other Kinesiology workshops where he aims to empower people to help themselves, their clients, family and friends. Peter has been coming across from Queensland, Australia, for several years to teach a range of Kinesiology courses at the School.
