Trigger Point Release
This Course examines the theory of Trigger Points, and looks at releasing a selection of trigger points that cause common pain referral symptoms throughout the body, using "Compressions" and "Ice & Stretch".
One of the fundamental aspects of NeuroMuscular Therapy is the identification and release of "trigger points' in the soft tissue of the body - neurological "hot spots" of activity that cause referred pain to distant areas. For example, many migraines come from trigger points located in the Sternocleidomastoid and/or Sub-Occipital muscles. A lot of "sciatic" pain is actually active trigger points deep in the Gluteus Minimus/Medius, or Piriformis. Excess menstrual bleeding and cramps (as well as lower Back pain) can be directly related to an abundance of Trigger Points in the Psoas and Iliacus muscles.
The tutor is Leon Botello.
This Course can be completed as a stand-alone course and is also part of several qualifications; the Diploma in Therapeutic Treatment Massage, the Diploma in Advanced Treatment Massage & Related Body Therapies, and the Certificate in Clinical NeuroMuscular Therapy.
